Ruby Has Mono

RubyYay and hooray for me.  I’ve been feeling tired and crappy for a while, now I am official.  I wanted to write a note here, because I’ve done this before a few times (had mono, I mean), so I know I’m going to be about as useful and productive as a box of rocks for a little while.  Probably more than a little while.

I have been meaning for some time to write up a series of posts for this month’s Let’s Talk About.  A number of things made me decide that for this month, it would be a good idea to talk about the ten topics already in our arsenal.  It’s NaNoWriMo, and authors and readers alike are involved in that.  The holiday season is approaching, which has many people extra-busy.  And to lay things right out, this is the time of year that really sucks for most people with any kind of affective disorder, (in the northern hemisphere, anyway).  It’s depression season, and most of those I know are more concerned with getting through the day than blogging.

So all-in-all, I was hoping to get some posts out with the material we already have.  I’m quite lucky, because I’m not depressed right now.  I’m just sleeping all of the time (more or less).  But I haven’t got it in me to even re-post what’s been written already.

This is not a woe-is-me post, even though it seems a lot like it.  This is me asking, please, go visit the pages for our previous Let’s Talk About topics.  There are a lot of great pages; some subjects have pretty in-depth conversations, others, not very much, but all of them are interesting, and we would love to have more input!

And if you’re at all interested in the long story of my on-again-off-again relationship with mononucleosis, you can hop on over to my blog and read They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?

Love,
Ruby

  1. Glad you’re on the road to (physical) wellness!

And I’ll finally get around to responding to my own “Let’s Talk About” topic that I never posted a comment on… I swear I will!

    • Thanks, DeeDee. And don’t stress yourself out. Almost every topic I would like to either respond more thoroughly, or reply to some of the comments. We’ll both get to doing it, sooner or later. 🙂

  2. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Had it in college and it was not fun. However, a box of rocks can at least be pretty interesting! God Bless!

    • John, you’re sweet, thank you. Two days ago I couldn’t see the beauty in your comment about the box of rocks, today I think it’s lovely. So there we are, progress already!

  3. Ruby, you are a star. Pure and simple. Good to see you beginning to surface a little bit again and hoping it continues until you are back to full health. Posts like this remind me just how fragile you are and yet how awesomely strong you are at the same time. 🙂

    • Thanks Ken, you’re very sweet to say so. I’ve got a long way to health still (think months, that’s how long this crap always hangs around), and I apparently insist on sabotaging myself even with posts and emails. . . Sigh. Apparently all my body will let me do without repercussions is read and watch movies. Which wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have Christmas gifts still to buy. But I’ll sort it out.
