Our lovely author, ManicMuses, had an idea that I liked at first, but as I got thinking about more extensively, I find absolutely brilliant. Of course here is the place where I explain to you what it is and why I feel this way. :)
She suggested that “. . . once a month you could choose a topic and if the contributors would like to, they could write a small-ish piece as to how they personally view/handle/approach the subject. The rest of the month would be an open forum, just the way we’ve been doing it so far.” She made this suggestion end of last month, and me being me, I wanted to have everything rolled out by the first day of this, but I ran into some technical glitches with the setup in WordPress.
I love this idea, because as much as the point of Canvas is that we are all granted freedom to write independently on whatever we choose, I for one am frequently inspired and often curious on how other bloggers deal with similar life issues. It was originally discussed that this concept might be implemented as a sticky, but I think for practicality’s sake, and to allow the most response time given everyone’s varying schedules, I like the idea of it having its own page, and each month a drop-down where contributors respond specifically to the topic (this also makes it much easier to find, long-term, and saves me archiving headaches in the future).
Also, the topics will be chosen by a different blogger each month. ManicMuses got the first crack at this, as this section was her idea.
